Hi everyone
Only our second run, but even more fantastic than last year. Glorious weather made it even more enjoyable for everyone. Huge lump in our throats when we were greeted by a little boy Keiran, who was in a ward at Yorkhill last year. Brilliant organisation once again. See you all again next year xx

Another excellent day, well done to the organizers & the police for a brilliantly put together event. More bikes than ever before the overspill at Kelvinhall was needing an overspill. 6000, 6500 how many was the official tally. Great to see the numbers of people coming out to spectate as well, more of them every year as well, looking forward to seeing how much was raised for Yorkhill too. Brought 2 new people along this year, one rider & one pillion & both were gobsmacked at the sight, booked for next year already.

Thanks, you lot deserve a medal.

What a well organised run and we could clearly see how many volunteers and Police it takes to pull it off and all for a good cause. This is our 4th year and it gets bigger and better every year, we hope that it raised plenty of eggs and cash for the kids.

You can definitely count on our support next year.

Big thanks to everyone who dressed up and made my little boy's day by waving as they went past. We were at bottom of Great Western Road and managed to get some cracking photos of you all!!
Looking forward to next year.

Stupendous, fantastic and I'm not and never was a biker. To watch so many people give up their Easter Sunday for such a worthy cause brought a lump to my throat. The run took 3/4 of an hour to pass where I stood on Great Western Road and the good humour of the riders was evident by the honking horns and the return of waves. Good Luck I look forward to seeing the run next year.

This was my third time at this humungus event, it's obvious the time the MAG, the Police, and the Council have spent to make it happen. A couple of times during the run when it dawned on me why we were all here I felt that strange lump thing in my throat. Riding along Great Western Road when you look way ahead is a sea of bikes and in the mirrors another sea of bikes. All like minded people supporting the greatest of causes, life itself.
I'll be back.

This is my fourth egg run and I really enjoyed being part of it. Perhaps we could have an official count at the start of the run as the figure of 8000 has been mentioned but no verification seems to be available.

The split car park is unfortunate but seemed to work well apart from marshalls directing bikes in to the rear of the hospital car park and therefore missing the kids at the front door. That's my only complaint, it's nice to ride into the front of the hospital and see the people we are doing it for.

Hi Bikers
What a great day we had. It was first time on the run and it will not be the last. The organisers deserve a medal and more media coverage. Well done everyone See you all next year.

Yet another fantastic turnout, maybe next year the run could be altered to let people on the east end of the city see the spectale of 6000 bikers as well.
Well done again MAG.

Hi Everyone,
What a fantastic day, I'm the one that was wearing the Easter Bunny Ears with little Grant standing next to me.. He He

A suggestion for next year maybe a MAG rally type of thing for after the event maybe somewhere everyone could camp. Maybe have a voters poll? It might turn out to be a Festival ....

Shame about the Rock night, Would have been a top night if more folk had turned up. Music was great!

i there just to thanks for the great egg run on sunday even the weather was great, the only thing that disapointed me a bit was the lack of covarage in the press the next day you think with raising that amount and for 8000 bikers to give up there time we could have a front page or middle page spread with a lot more pics, anyway thats my gripe, but you at mag did a wonderful day and the kids faces at the hospital make ot all well worth it and how many big hairy bikers had to stop the tears when you see the little ones, once again i thank you and congrats for a great day, thank you

Great day! My 3rd run and 1st with Mrs on pillion, she was amazed even though she'd been at the others as observer. A few memories will stick with me, the smokers stopping for a puff on the Expressway at the line up before Finnieston Street and also some one having a brew from a flask there. The other was a 6-7 stone female riding an R1.

I've been involved in organising a run for about 35 bikes so I can imagine the headaches for the organisers of this 'do', they're heroes, all of them!

It just gets bigger and bigger!!!!!! The first time I did this run in 2003, there was about 1500 bikes, and it seemed huge then! This just defies belief. Great day - makes ya proud to be part of the 2 wheeled brigade.

Hello organisers, haven't you thought on producing 'I've been on the egg run' stickers, the sale of such might guarantee additional funds for the cause.
It was a nice day out, I had just had an operation the week before to remove a cancer on my tongue and this was my first outing

Hi to everyone who was on the run .. many thanks to MAG for organising it .... just to let you know i was back at yorkhill today with my son darren and it was absolutley amazing to see what the results of the egg run done for all the kids who have to attend the hospital. This was our first run but we will definately be back next year...... many thanks to all who took part and donated eggs and money. it is such a joy to see the results of such a brilliant day from the other side as a mother.

I was disapointed at the level of services at the Hospital. We arrived hungry to see 3000 bikers queuing for an ice cream van and a burger van...

Not on really, so we left about 5 minutes after we arrived and went to the Carbeth Inn for some food without having to wait 40 minutes for a burger.

Do you people not think that when everyone arrives they might just be a bit peckish?????????
Name: Big D Submitted: Friday, April 28, 2006 at 08:59:56
Paul Anderson you are missing the point here. This run is not about you or your needs it is about the kids & the hospital. Yes it is a good day out but it is not just to allow you to run all the red lights round the town & make a noise. I have been on this run many times now & every year we get the odd message like yours. The guys who organise the event do a brilliant job of pulling it together but they are organizing a charity run for the hospital not a bikers rally. You did the right thing by going to Carbeth for lunch, it is what you should have been planning all along, I hope you rembered to leave a donation before you departed.

Sorry to have missed this years egg run due to having no bike at present due to family car comitments , anyway from what i have seen on the site and read i very much hope to take part in the coming toy and egg runs as i see it was an even bigger and enjoyable event not just for the bikers and kids at yorkhill but for the many people who stood and watched god knows how many thousands of bikes pass them by , must of been an unforgettable sight . As for mr PAUL ANDERSON what were you thinkin of ??? you should be dissapointed in yourself by now , gives the true egg run and toy run bikers a bad name/reputation , events like this aint just for comin to meet your mates and stuff your face wi burgers n wot not , you should of ate before you came out on the run to cheer up the yorkhill sick kids .
